MI Cable Heater for Natural Gas Metering or Pressure Reduction Station produced by MICH, optimize equipment functionality and provide protection against cooling & condensate. The customized designed heaters can be installed wherever pressure reduction leads to temperature drop and condensation. This includes sampling & test outlets at metering stations, as well as pipeline pressure reduction stations. MI Heaters are also effective in heating pilot tube gas streams, which may run throughout a system to maintain warmth, preventing the formation of damaging frost or condensation on valves, seals, and small components.
With MI Heaters, all heated media is isolated in seamless stainless steel flow-tubes: gases have no contact with heating elements or any other components within the heater. This is an important safety feature, enabling the MI Cable Heater design to heat flammable and explosive media.
The Heaters are compatible with continuous high-pressure operation.

Explosion-proof electric enclosures (NEMA 7 and ATEX) are standard options.
Available from .5 up to 60 kW, the MI cable Heaters can be configured to meet any worldwide voltage.
Heaters are easily integrated and use standard fittings and controls (PID, PLC, etc.).

Technical Properties

1. The gas electric heater uses mineral insulated (MI) heating cable as heating element to transfer heat to the heat exchange chamber via a heat medium. The heat between the heated medium and the heating element are indirectly transmitted.

2. The heated gas is guided to flow along the sparger in the heat exchange chamber, and has a good flow heat exchange effect.

3. A temperature sensor being set at the outlet of the heat exchange chamber, the temperature automatic control can be realized after being connected with the matched temperature control cabinet.

4. The conventional pressure grade of 0.6~12MPa can be designed and produced, and higher pressure (12~25MPa) grade can also be done for professional users.

5. In explosion-proof locations, device connections and electrical wiring are in compliance with explosion-proof specifications with an explosion-proof rating dIIB T1-T6.

Working Principle

The cold medium enters the heat exchange chamber via the inlet pipe, guides the tortuous turbulence along the baffle plate, and flows to the outlet pipe at a uniform temperature after a predetermined heat exchange process. A temperature sensor being installed in the outlet pipe of the heat exchange chamber and the temperature signal being collected and transmitted to the electrical control system, the primary circuit electrical component is controlled by the temperature regulator to realize automatic temperature control. At the same time, it is equipped with a flow lockout device to stop automatically the power output of the electric heating element when the medium flow is relatively small while to resume the normal heating by increasing the flow rate immediately and an over-temperature protection device is provided.
